Trauma and genetics are the most common causes for nasal septal deviation during childhood. Nasal obstruction disrupts the normal development of the nose and maxillofacial growth. The impaired nasal patency may exert a negative effect on the other systems and the general growth of the child. The main goal of this surgery is to solve the nasal patency problem in order to assure the normal body growth of the child.
