In general, anti-reflux surgery involves repairing the hiatus hernia and strengthening the lower esophageal sphincter. The most common surgical treatment is Laparoscopic Nissen Fundoplication. This procedure involves wrapping the upper part of the stomach around the lower end of the esophagus.
